Plan Galesburg! Small Town, Big Heart

THE DRAFT PLANS ARE HERE!

The work has resulted in two separate, but connected plans: Plan Galesburg Master Plan and Galesburg Downtown Plan. NEXT STEPS
Now is the time for comment and review. Citizens, businesses, and all relevant agencies will review the new plan and provide comments and feedback now until Friday, October 13.
 
On Thursday, August 17, the Downtown Development Authority Board will vote on whether to approve the Downtown Plan.


On Monday, October 16, at 6:00 PM, your Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on whether to approve the citywide Master Plan. An hour before this meeting, starting at 5:00 PM, a member of the Abonmarche project team will be available for community discussion at City Hall with hard copies of the Plan documents and some overview posters, highlighting the implementation schedule.

On Monday, November 13, at 6:00 PM your City Council will have a public meeting and vote on whether to adopt both plans.

"Plan Galesburg! Small Town, Big Heart" is a master plan being developed to help guide and plan for the future of Galesburg, Michigan. The process of creating a master plan offers the community the opportunity to create a vibrant new vision for the future and to formalize goals for growth, the built environment, sustainability and quality of life. We will strive to engage a diverse audience of elected leaders, community decision makers, residents, business owners, and developers to capture community dreams and aspirations for the future of Galesburg. A formal master planning process will help to confirm the community’s priority projects and develop the strategies and policies necessary make them reality.
