Downtown Development Authority

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) manages the development, redevelopment, and continuing improvement of Galesburg's business district, with a primary focus on its economic and physical revitalization.  It preserves and enhances the business district through a broad range of projects, with current focus on Fulfilling requirements of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation's Redevelopment Ready Communities Program.

Lorence Wenke - Term Expires 12/31/2026

Lorence Wenke brings a wealth of business and government experience to the Downtown Development Authority. A tireless community advocate he works to bring together business owners, government leaders, funders, and neighbors to improve the appearance of properties.

Amanda Hawes - Term Expires 12/31/2026

Amanda Hawes has lived in Galesburg her entire life and has a vested interest in seeing the city grow.  Living here has given her the opportunity to meet many different city residents and the knowledge to know what improvements she would like to see in the downtown district. 

Linda Marble - Term Expires 12/31/2024

Linda is the Mayor for the City of Galesburg and has sat on the City Council for over 4 years.  She was also a Board member of the Planning Commission for 6 years.  She wants to work with the DDA Board to draft a Downtown Plan which includes the vision that the Community has for future economic development in the downtown district.

DShey White - Term Expires 12/31/2025

DShey White has spent most of his life in Galesburg.  He wants to be involved with the city to help local establishments grow and to expand the Galesburg downtown businesses.  He wants to make this community the best Galesburg it can be while also making it a safe place to live. 

Jerry Vanderweele - Term Expires 12/31/2026

Jerry has been a local business owner for several year.  As a business owner, he would like to work with Community leaders and help our community grow by bringing businesses into the Downtown District.
