Zoning Board of Appeals Description

The City of Galesburg’s Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is composed of three (3) members.  These members consist of volunteers.  The authority of the ZBA is to hear and decide upon requests for the interpretation of the City’s Zoning Ordinances; to grant variances; to hear and decide petitions for special exceptions, conditional uses or temporary uses.  For more details, please see Section 82-35 of the City of Galesburg’s Zoning Ordinance. 

Currently there are no Zoning Board of Appeals members, the Zoning Enabling Act allows for the City Council to serve at the Zoning Board of Appeals.  Click here to see the City's Ordinances
