Master Plan
Plan Galesburg! Small Town, Big Heart is the name of the master under development for Galesburg, Michigan.
A master plan is a document and policy guide designed to help communities create a vision of what they want to look like in the future. Master plans, often called comprehensive plans, must meet requirements included in the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, Act 33 of 2008, as amended.
Generally, a master plan will analyze and make recommendations concerning the City's land uses, downtown, economic development transportation infrastructure, waterways, utilities, and public facilities. More information can be found in the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, Act 33 of 2008, as amended.
The planning team along with the steering committee began the planning process in Fall 2022 and the plan will be completed in Summer 2023.
We encourage you to get involved so we can capture the vision of as many interested individuals as possible. The easiest way to be involved is take the community survey. There will also be a community workshop later in the process. Further engagement opportunities will also be posted to the City of Galesburg Facebook page.
Information as it becomes available will be posted on the Master Plan page of the City of Galesburg website. You can also follow the City of Galesburg Facebook page for updates.
